Research project:

The root tip of Brachypodium distachyon (Brachypodium) “wiggles” back and forth, oscillating to facilitate exploration and establishment in its environment. My aim is to better understand the molecular mechanisms of this root tip circumnutation, which may yield important information relevant for economically important crops closely related to Brachypodium to better survive and thrive in the climate crisis.
